APAC Compliance maintains a local presence in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan (100+ staff in total). Our primary focus is to support GBIS activities (MARK - global capital markets & GLFI – global structured finance). The allocation of resources in the region is proportionate to company staffing, size of business activities and local regulatory constraints.
Mission
Your role
At Société Générale, you will be joining the Group General Secretariat (SEGL). SEGL monitors the administrative, legal and tax compliance of the Group's businesses in France and the rest of the world, in liaison with the Central Divisions, Core Businesses and other Societe Generale group entities. It is responsible for permanent control forlegal and tax risks and risks of non-compliance under the conditions set out in Directive no.86 (Compliance Monitoring). It is responsible for the Group's compliance function. It coordinates and manages Group insurance. It also supervises the development of the Corporate Social Responsibility policy within the Societe Generale group.
During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities :
· Promptly undertake trade surveillance using the firm's in-house trade surveillance tool (MUST) and the vendor's trade surveillance tool (SMARTS).
· Promptly investigate and clearly communicate issues arising from the trade surveillance activities, involving advisory compliance officers as required in order to follow issues through to full resolution with the business lines as appropriate.
· Proactive and timely escalation of issues to CMS supervisor as required, ensuring regular and frequent communication on such issues.
· Active participation in regulatory and internal investigations as required.
· Participation in departmental and team meetings, as required.
· The candidate may also be required to work on the Communication Surveillance.
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Hong Kong is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com .

You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in Finance or Audit.
Ideally you have past experiences in a financial institution (preferably in Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, or Operations).
A first experience working abroad would be appreciated
You are proficient in Microsoft Office application (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
You are fluent in English and French.
