Based in the Siemens Mobility Derby facility, the successful candidate for this role will be expected to lead pre-production activities and production activities for the ETCS OBU: Freight Project as per the project’s requirements. This will include interaction with multiple Siemens departments, external design companies, external fitment partners, customer, and suppliers.

  • Ensuring the close out of Technical Queries in relation to design and installation
  • Ensure appropriate resources are available to solve first line issues.
  • Manage the loading of the MRP system in relation to part numbers and Bills of Materials by the Production Engineers
  • Maintain, and create where necessary, processes and procedures relating to the Production Engineering function.
  • Implement and manage an effective document control process in line with project requirements.
  • Lead and manage the production engineering team in supporting the fitment partners and factory for all production engineering requirements.,

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum level 3 apprenticeship in a recognised trade e.g. Mechanical, electrical (essential)
  • HNC qualification in a relevant trade (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and software, ideally, SAP and Teamcenter (essential)
  • Proven experience in Rail Vehicles retrofit/modification projects (essential)
  • Detailed knowledge in continuous improvement (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience in leading a team (essential)
  • Experience in project mobilisation and implementing new or existing procedures and processes (essential)
