We’re looking for two Communications Interns to join the Siemens plc Communications Team from September 2020 for 12 months, where you’ll be working on exciting projects that will build your communications and business skills. If you have a passion for digital communications, have a passion for writing with attention to detail and enjoy being a key part of a great team, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.

Throughout your time with us you will experience a wide breadth of communications disciplines from public relations, employee engagement and marketing & digital communications, making this a well-rounded internship. You will support the team with the planning and execution of a wide range of campaigns and use a variety of digital comms channels across the team as well as manage your own projects where appropriate.

Your base location would be our UK Head office in Manchester, with a flexible combination of home & office working. Some travel to other sites will be required occasionally.

You will be responsible for:

Campaign Support

·  Supporting the delivery of internal & external communications activities following agreement of key messages
·  The creation and delivery of projects and plans within activity timelines, KPIs and budget
·  Supporting with internal and external event execution (virtual & face to face) and logistics where required
·  Supporting the editorial planning of internal & external communications content around our UK and global strategy, including thought-leadership campaigns and social media planning
·  Writing across a range of media and channels for a variety of audiences including internal and external articles, web content, blogs, social media, speeches etc.
·  Proactively responding to ad hoc communications support requests through our internal and external platforms
·  Supporting crisis management situations if required
·  Ensuring all communications are on brand and adhere to our guidelines and best practice

Channel Management

·  Developing a deep knowledge of how to use and maximise all the main internal & external communications channels and be able to advise our stakeholders accordingly.
·  Identifying and uploading images, videos and other web assets to our Digital Asset Management platform with supporting licensing documentation.
·  Maintaining, reviewing and testing web content on our external UK website, and support with understanding the personas of our target audience groups, what they would search for on the web and define and measure appropriate conversions from site visits.
·  Analysing target groups for our marketing automation email campaigns and creating marketing emails within our branded templates.
·  Supporting social media plans on the SiemensUKNews twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts
·  Assisting with support and training for key influencers in using social media, especially Yammer (internal ESN platform), Twitter and LinkedIn

Analytics

·  Monitoring the effectiveness of both our internal & external digital communications channels and campaigns using tools such as Adobe Analytics and others.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

·  You will ideally be working towards (and in your penultimate / placement year) or completed a 2:2 or above in a business-related subject e.g.  Business Information Management, Marketing, Corporate Communications, E-commerce, Media, Journalism, PR, History or Languages, or with a keen interest and experience in digital communications channels
·  Excellent English writing skills and communication skills
·  Excellent organisational skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment
·  Good knowledge of Office 365 applications including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
·  A practical understanding of the main social media channels and their use in a business context
·  Openness to learn new IT tools and content management systems – full training will be provided
·  Experience with editing images and video
·  Familiarity with html, video and image formats is desirable
