Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens PLM is seeking a software developer to contribute to our

reporting and charting team.

The primary focus of this team is the development of cutting edge

technology allowing users to understand STAR-CCM+ simulation results

through qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. This specific

job position is primarily for development of charting functionality in

our post processing portfolio. As a member of this team you will be

expected to contribute both to maintenance of existing code and

development of new features based on userrequests and internal ideas.

All code written should be well designed, high quality, and robust.

The successful candidate will report to the program manager for the

Post Processing Reporting Team within the Post Processing Division in

the STAR-CCM+ Platform Department.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance of our existing charting and table

representation capability (bug fixing, code cleanup, etc.)

• Develop new quantitative data visualization features to extend our

charting capabilities based on user requests and internal ideas

• Participate in regularly scheduled team conference calls by

contributing ideas to drive innovation in our technology

• Participate in periodic in-person team meetings to plan for future

releases (approximately 1-2 trips per year)

• Support other developers through code and design review

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

• 2+ years C++ and object oriented programming expertise

• Knowledge in data visualization approaches, especially methods to

represent data in the form of charts and tables

• MS in computer science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering discipline and higher

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

• Familiarity with computational simulation, including CFD and FEA, and

algorithms to post-process simulation results

• Knowledge in Human Computer Interaction

• Experience using and extending VTK

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience in a

related field
