A Software Engineer is primarily responsible for application software development based on client requirements. You will collaborate closely with other developers, business analysts and the QA team to fully understand the requirements and ensure high quality of solutions provided. You will actively be encouraged to develop as well as share your knowledge and expertise with the rest of the team, including developing and documenting best practices and standards. This is a technical role and requires strong technical attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

·  Java/Spring based software development
·  Being an active contributor in our Agile teams
·  Collaborating with customers and other team members to understand technical and infrastructure requirements
·  Taking part in customer facing meetings
·  Developing unit and integration tests
·  Delivering high quality, well designed and well tested code by making quality a part of your DNA
·  Continuous self-development, though increased product knowledge from training and hands on practical application of your skills in the hybris platform
·  Opportunities to gain certification in the languages and tools used e.g. Spring/Java certification
·  Develop yourself and other by sharing knowledge and expertise within the team

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES / WORK EXPERIENCE:

Ideal candidates for this role will have the following:

·  Good verbal and written English – you will work in this every day!
·  Computer Science degree
·  Experienced in Java 6 or above
·  Ability to work as part of a self-organising team
·  Open mind for working with different technologies
·  2+ years commercial software development experience

Any of the following would be an advantage:

·  Experience with JSP/JSTL, JPA, JEE, Spring
·  Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
·  Experience of web/mobile application development
·  Experience (or strong interest) in agile methods such as Scrum/XP
·  Experience in a customer facing role
·  Experience of eCommerce projects
·  Experience with infrastructure and deployment processes
