Medical Pathologist ( H/F)

The position is part of the Molecular Histopathology & Bio Imaging team within R&D Translational Sciences Platform. The Molecular Histopathology & Bio imaging platform collaborates with all Therapeutic domains along the value chain from early discovery to clinical integration. The main missions of this platform consist of Target identification & validation, Selection of relevant indications, Evaluation of compounds and dissection of their MOA.

Main mission

As Medical Pathologist in the Molecular Histopathology & Bio Imaging team , your main responsibilities will consist in designing and interpreting research-based pathologic studies and to participate in many aspects of drug development from Discovery to Development for the purpose of developing novel, safe drugs intended for human use .

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for designing and interpreting research-based pathologic studies for the purpose of developing novel, safe drugs intended for human use.

· Participate in many aspects of drug development including: target /Antibody identification and validation, Patients stratification, Evaluation of translational efficacy/pharmacodynamics biomarkers in animal models.

· Prepare and perform frequent presentations of findings in oral and written format and serve as project leader/member and peer review pathologist for both GLP and non-GLP tissue cross-reactivity studies.

· Participate in project teams and have frequent inter-organizational and some outside collaborative contacts.

· Manage a team including, technicians and Master Sciences and contribute to several projects including Cardiovascular, Fibrosis/Immuno-inflammation, Oncology and Neurodegenerative disease, from Discovery (Target validation) to Clinic (Patients stratification).

· Take in charge the Quality control of Human Biospecimens within Molecular Histology/Patient Stratification Biorepository

· Build Medical Pathologists and Translational Medicine Networks.

Qualifications & experience

· M.D. degree from an accredited medical school, Board Certification or Board eligibility in Pathology, and a track record of scientific productivity.

· A Ph.D. in pathology, virology, pharmacology, molecular biology and subspecialty training in molecular genetics as well as a high expertise Immunology is highly desired, but not mandatory

· Complete understanding and wide application and expertise of technical principles, as Immunohistochemistry, tissue-Micro-Arrays, Bio-imaging analysis and development work regarding tissue processing for these techniques.

· Knowledge in interpreting traditional diagnostic categories in the context of a current understanding of molecular and cellular biology is also highly desired.

· At least 3 years of professional experience as medical pathologist

Other Skills :

· Demonstrated capability to autonomously plan, designs, and executes projects with the support of a team in specific scientific fields

· Strong ability to present and communicate through critical participation in project teams.

· Scientific leadership skills and communication skills

· Strong ability to work in a multidisciplinary & international environment

· Ability to interact efficiently in complex environments ( internal & external)

· Documented skills in oral and written French and English

· Scientific rigor, enthusiasm and team spirit required
