Main mission

The Clinical Data Engineer position is inside Biostatistics & Programming department. His/her main mission is to:

Collaborate with programming teams to structure and lead the development of clinical data lakes , to support data scientists to facilitate data integration, prepare clinical data to fit into machine learning algorithm and Actively contribute to the internal training and development of competencies related to the data science tools and systems

Responsabilities

·  Develop new systems/tools/capabilities for B&P department in data sciences and visualization tools
·  Contribute to the development of the Sanofi clinical data lake in collaboration with the programming team to standardize and centralize analysis data sets (ADS) for prospective studies run by Sanofi (global, regional and local) including phase II to IV clinical trials and observational studies registries
·  Provide technical support to Data Scientists to prepare data for machine-learning (ML) algorithms, develop/test ML algorithms, and facilitate analysis execution and data visualization; ensure the use of proper programming languages with adequate documentation.
·  Lead or participate in the development of data-processing and machine-learning pipelines, as well as data operation technologies, e.g., for data catalogues and data sharing.
·  Support the Data Sciences Group Head and Statistical Programming Head in forecasting resources for projects and evaluating skillsets.
·  Represent Biostatistics and Programming department and collaborate cross-functionally in transversal initiatives to enable the implementation of data sciences and advanced analytics across the organization
·  Management of junior staff (e.g. students), coordination of off-site resources
·  Innovate continually on how to make the data engineering platform as flexible as possible to achieve the lowest latency, make business decisions, and offer optimal business value
·  Propose and develop best practices and standards for data engineer platform

Qualifications

·  MSc in data sciences, computer sciences, biostatistics, or related field required.
·  3+ years diverse experience as data engineer and 2+ years working in clinical trials and clinical development.
·  Experience managing data-driven research from project inception to stake-holder communication.
·  Knowledge of clinical data standards (CDSIC)
·  Knowledge on regulatory requirement evolution thorough understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development
·  Proficient in R and SAS. Experience with Python, Java or C++
·  Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and drive change, collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations.
·  Proven strong writing and oral communication skills.
·  Strong skills that demonstrate initiative, motivation, problem-solve and teamwork in global interdisciplinary teams.
·  Ability and mindset to embrace change and continuously improve programming practice.
