About the Opportunity

We are welcoming applications for the role of Category Buyer to support the MCO’s Benelux and UK/Ireland.

The main responsibilities of the Category Buyer include managing all sourcing demand of a site of a given business and ensures compliance to local contracts at the country attended. As well as this, you will be responsible for localising, implementing and executing Country / MCO strategies following guidance from Global / Regional Category Management (mainly in but not limited to HR & Mobility services).

One of the most important objectives is to achieve the consolidation of the volumes of all sites to obtain standardization and harmonization of services at the countries and into the Europe Region, be sure that these actions have a positive impact in the conditions of services improving quality and cost. The role also includes localising, implementing and executing Country/MCO procurement projects from pre-planning through implementation to completion.

The role can be based at any of the Sanofi sites in Benelux or UK/Ireland.

Key responsibilities

Buyer role:

·  Support Regional / Local execution of the pre-defined category strategy
·  Proactively contribute to provide information to Regional Category Manager / Country Procurement Head on local business needs and supplier market intelligence
·  Select and maintain country suppliers base as per category strategy (preferred vendors), and local country requirements:
·  Define list of non-preferred suppliers compliant with global category guidelines
·  Source and manage interactions with preferred suppliers
·  Handle inquiries related to commercial matters
·  Manage system changes
·  Accountable for supplier Master Data (MD) accuracy
·  Validate creation and modification of Supplier MD in System (e.g. SAP…)
·  Lead process to ensure consistent accuracy of data (incl. payment terms); initiate deactivation of suppliers not used; initiate blocking/unblocking of suppliers
·  Ensure full compliance with Sanofi ethical standards and compliance rules
·  Conduct full supplier due diligence and ensure compliance with all internal control requirements for the category
·  Manage and monitor catalogues
·  Negotiate and manage process to put in place catalogues
·  Guide the operational Buying/Purchasing process for purchases above the Buyer threshold
·  Challenge business requirements (demand & specification)
·  Identify potential suppliers for PR above the Buyer threshold
·  Conduct bidding (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and negotiate above the Buyer threshold
·  Select supplier with best offer
·  Guide the user throughout the Contract management process
·  Negotiate contracts, optimize existing agreements (commercial)
·  Provide when relevant, pre-sourcing guidance to P2P Purchasing Experts/Agents to streamline P2P process
·  Follow-up KPIs, deliver local savings objectives
·  Master Procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…)
·  Collaborate with P2P peers to ensure coordinated business partnering with business stakeholders
·  Contribute and support other professional tasks, initiatives and projects as required by Country Procurement Heads
·  Assume the role of Procurement Business Partner for Amsterdam, Diegem, Brussels, Gent and Geel site, as principal point of contact, guiding business partners and channeling any Procurement related issues or needs beyond the scope of their respective category to the relevant person in the Procurement organization

Project Management:

·  Organises and implement (complex) procurement projects and Contribute and support projects as required by Country Procurement Heads/local buyers/RCM’s
·  Responsible for project set-up, execution and closure
·  Responsible for executing projects on time, within scope and according to plan within the requested quality requirements
·  Acts as the expert within project teams and towards stakeholders
·  Report project information to applicable stakeholders
·  Support contract management in agreeing contracts with internal and external vendors
·  Work closely with (senior) management teams and department heads on planned, current and future projects
·  Explains difficult concepts and influences others to adopt a different point of view

About You

To excel in this role you will need to have:

Essential requirements:

·  University degree with at least 3-5 years’ procurement, supplier management experience
·  Proven project management skills
·  Good sourcing and supplier market knowledge
·  Capability to manage internal stakeholders and suppliers
·  Strong internal customer & business focus, result orientation
·  Good communication and negotiation skills
·  Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
·  Good written and spoken English (preferrable also Dutch speaking)
