In this role you are responsible for the daily operations within the SENSE control room, utilizing data science to drive data integrity, risk identification, and trend analyses across the Global Development Operations (GDO) portfolio. You will leverage SENSE, and other analytical techniques including explorative applications of machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence to translate data insights into operational insights. You will deliver timely and accurate analytics and reports to the GDO PfM team to support portfolio review and prepare for monthly DU and GDO Portfolio review meetings. You will contribute to the development, implementation and enhancement of predictive planning tools and data science projects (incl. SENSE, Data42, reporting governance, and STRIDE dataflow).

What your job will look like:
• Responsible for day to day operations within the SENSE control room, including supporting individuals and teams in reviewing study(s), program(s) and/or processes
• Use SENSE and other exploratory analytical techniques to identify data integrity challenges, operational risks, and trends across the GDO portfolio
• Translate business questions into analytical problems and coordinate validation/UAT of analytics solutions
• Rapidly prepare relevant data and prototype appropriate analytical models
• Track current GDO portfolio delivery in SENSE and other systems, ensuring that up-to-date status’ are reflected in associated reports
• Deliver timely and accurate data outputs to the GDO PfM team in preparation for the monthly DU and GDO Portfolio review meetings
• Contribute to the enrichment of future portfolio model rule definitions and predictive analytics within the SENSE application
• Support data curation and mining and perform analyses to identify business insights and support strategic decisions
• Provision of in-depth technical and business knowledge to ensure efficient design, implementation and enhancement of predictive planning tools and data science projects (incl. SENSE, Data42, reporting governance, and STRIDE dataflow)
• Generate state of the art automated reports for performance measurements to help drive business efficiency within the GDO PfM
• Support the development of GDO PfM communication material and the management and maintenance of the GDO PfM Intranet/ SharePoint sites

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

• PhD or Masters in computer science, or related field
• 5+ years industry experience with proven business analytical skills, and large scale portfolio analytical experience
• Minimum 2 years in machine learning and analysis of large data sets
• Experience with working in multi-disciplinary teams and business functions
• Strong track record of innovating through machine learning and statistical algorithms and their applications (e.g. ElasticNet, AdaBoost, Neural Networks, SVR)
• Advanced technical expertise with analytical tools such as SAS, R, Spotfire, Visual Basic, SQL, MS Project, Matlab/Octave, Regular expression, Python etc.
• Demonstrated success in identifying risk signals, predicting trends, and translating data insights into operational insights
• Practical experience in data discovery with large and complex data assets from varied information sources
• Hands on experience with data mining and advanced concepts / techniques for analysis / utilization of large complex data sets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with excellent problem-solving skills
• Excels at building trusting relationships with customers, colleagues and partners
• Advanced time management skills and ability to multitasking and prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to work under time pressure and de-liver in an environment of competing priorities and changing project scope.
• Innovative problem solver with proven ability to analyze, assess and solve complex problems and make decisions under pressure.
