NPI Engineer  
The Hardware Innovation & Test Lab (HITL) @ Salesforce supports testing of all hardware platforms behind Salesforce’s production infrastructure. From complex network hardware to server platforms to optics and power infrastructure we test it all. The HITL team is looking for a Lead New Product Introduction Engineer specifically focused on server technologies. You will lead the development of our Vendor Quality Program owning from factory and integration audit all the way through FAI and to 90+ days in production. This role will take the work performed in the lab and translate that to the vendor factories ensuring a seamless transition.

- Lead the Vendor Quality Program @ Salesforce for all server platforms
- Manage on-boarding of new SKU / racks from test completion to +90 days in production
- Create and operate an efficient First Article Inspection program supporting server production worldwide
- Perform factory L10 and integration L11 audits of vendors
- Work with vendors to implement Salesforce required tests and processes
- Perform “Design for Deployment” on all new SKU recommending changes as needed to allow a smooth deployment into production datacenters
- Monitor quality and delivery issues during deployment and modify FAI / vendor audits to manage those problems
- Design tests and audit steps to ensure quality of manufacture produced solutions

Required Skills:

- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with test harness development, system bring up, design validation.
- Experience with commercial and non­commercial server test platforms (SPEC*, Phoronix Test Suite, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in disassembly of servers (HDD, Memory, CPU, etc.)
- Experience in developing comprehensive test plans and cases
- Ability to develop data collection strategies around test plans
- Experience with systems installation, configuration and administration of routers/switches, UNIX/Linux and Windows­ based systems
- Ability to use lab test hardware (scopes, multimeters, data acquisition systems, thermal imaging hardware, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in Hardware / integrated system quality management/testing
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
- 5+ years experience with the deployment of systems, imaging, configuration management, and system maintenance and monitoring are required.
- 4+ year’s experience in deploying, managing, diagnosing, and tuning UNIX and Linux servers.
- 2+ years of vendor management and system sourcing.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Adaptive in a dynamic working environment, very comfortable learning new technologies, tools, and platforms
- Ability to work in a lab, data center, and factory environment
- Travel Required up to 50% both domestic and international
