Basic Requirements:

- 3+ years of relevant experience in a production environment
- Deep understanding of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Ruby, Go, Python, Java)
- Solid knowledge of Database technologies such as Postgres, MongoDB, and/or Cassandra and relational database schema design/ data modeling and SQL
- Have worked in production grade, high-scale systems that can process millions of transactions
- Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

- Has a github and has used Heroku
- At least (5) years of software engineering experience
- Master of Ruby or Go and experience developing and tuning highly available server-side applications
- Deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming
- Experience with developer tools
- Experience with Kakfa, Pig/Hive and/or other no-sql technologies
- SOAP/REST APIs and general API design, extensive HTTP
- Experience with agile development methodology
- Experience building highly scalable, distributed systems (ideally has experience with public and/or private clouds, i.e. AWS, Heroku, Azure, Google's Cloud Platform, OpenShift, Rackspace, etc.)
- Ideally has worked on some DevOps related tasks - building out Infrastructure using containers (docker or kubernetes)
- Experience delivering and owning web scale data systems in production
- If interested in 100% remote work, have previously worked remote successfully
