Job description

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of Safran Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer - Concessions. As part of the Front Office team, you will be a first point of contact between the customer concerns and the resolution teams, and our input will guide the resolution of those concerns.

Technical Profile:-
Respond to Production non-conformance repairs / in service repair concessions
Facilitate production of repair schemes
Ensure quality of deliveries
Capability to understand and assimilate form product requirements into engineering boundary.
Check technical quality of ECR's / PR's before submission to signatories
Capability to produce clear and concise documentation including technical reports and support the knowledge management.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and related thermal treatments, material protections and coatings.
Report performance, internally and externally.
Candidate Skills:-
Knowledge of generators, rotating machines (ideally within production aerospace but other similar fields would be considered).
Experience of interfacing with customers for related technical issues.
Good understanding of design and manufacturing processes, preferably related to the aerospace industry.
Conversant with traditional and computerised design and analysis methods.
Good understanding of aerospace materials.
Ability to understand technical drawings, preferably in an electro-mechanical environment.
Ability to work cross functionally and liaise with other departments, namely production, repair operations a well as engineering.
Practical and hands on.
Computer Literate
Awareness of industry standards, regulations and qualification requirements
Ability to work under tight timelines, communicate efficiently with supporting teams as well as the customer

Skills:
Experience with Siemens NX CAD software, Ansys, Nastran and Patran advantageous.
Experience in participation to QRQC/drumbeats/stand-up meetings.
Aircraft / Ground Transportation experience.
Interest in mechanical /technical advances.
Personal Qualities:-
Must demonstrate good time management skills with ability to prioritise and multi-task on several work packages concurrently to tight deadlines and customer demands.
Team spirit/ability to work effectively within an integrated team.
Customer focussed / ability to establish credibility with internal and external customers.
Self motivated and able to take responsibility for own work and work effectively within an integrated team including international teams.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

This is a fixed term contract with a view to progression to a permanent position
