Job description



Job Location: Twinsburg Ohio

This is a firmware and software engineering role. This person will develop requirements and FPGA and embedded ‘c' code in accordance with regulatory procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·  • Develop and maintain product and FPGA/SW-level requirements, FPGA/SW code to meet defined requirements, and traceability between them.
·  • Develop and maintain regulatory process documentation
·  • Support internal and external compliance audits
·  • Debug systems that consist of both firmware/software and custom analog electronics
·  • Support other activities as necessary as part of power system development
·  • No regular travel is required
·  • Extra hours may be required during business peaks
·  • Adhere to all safe work practices and contributes to the health, safety, and environmental program and culture

Work Environment

Typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.) Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, fringer and wrist manipulation and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use.

Job requirements

Qualifications

*Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Education and/or Experience Required:

·  • A B.S. in Electrical, Computer, Software, Systems Engineering, or equivalent degree/experience.
·  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in requirements-based FPGA Design and embedded software design.
·  • Experience with requirements-based design of systems consisting of hardware and firmware/software
·  • Experience developing products to meet ARP4754A, DO-254, and/or DO-178C

Knowledge and Skills

·  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software
·  • Capable of working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
·  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment

Preferred Skills:

·  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements-based FPGA and SW Design within processes governed by DO-254, DO-178C, and ARP4754A.
·  • Experience using C, C++ with microcontrollers in an embedded environment
·  • Experience with DOORS, Integrity, or other requirements management tools
·  • Experience with power electronics
·  • Experience reading schematics, using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing equipment
