At P&G we are workig on developing state of the art mathematical models to predict the behaviour of complex fluids through our manufacturing and integrated pilot plant units. The Modeling & Simulation group at Brussels Innovation Centre is looking for a candidate qualified to PhD level to lead the development and validation of these models. This will involve working as part of a global multi-disciplinary team within one of P&G's major business units. Corporate and specific job trainings will be provided to accelerate your development.

Job responsibilities:

• Partner effectively with colleagues having diverse technical backgrounds as well as multi-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver critical analytical data, interpretations, and learnings that support and advance R&D programs and current business initiatives.

• Strong Oral and written communication skills. Present key learnings to diverse audiences via oral presentations , written reports and posters.

• Excellent collaboration skills. Work collaboratively in a team environment with multidisciplinary, multifunctional global colleagues.

• Leadership skills - Independent, self-motivated and a ‘can-do' attitude, providing technical leadership and vision for individual projects

• Develop and grow innovative modeling capabilities in the area of fluid processing that provide value to P&G. Bring novel tools and capabilities in-house and/or find ways to tap in to external capabilities, tools and expertise to advance R&D programs.

• Agility – Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks at any given time, and adapt to changing priorities.

The individual will be part of a team working on developing CFD and 1st principle models of complex, multiple reaction systems involving, mass and heat transfer, multiphase flow and integrated plant units. We welcome applications from postgraduate students with a background in chemical, mechanical, materials, civil and environmental engineering, physics or related subjects. In addition the candidate must have specific knowledge and skills in the following areas :

• Has background in general CFD area and familiar with the popular codes, such as Fluent, FLOW3D and openFOAM, etc.

• Familiar with CFD preprocessors and postprocessing codes such as, Solidworks, Ansys CFD post, Ensight, or Paraview.

• Have experience in using HPTC (super computers) to run CFD jobs in parallel. Familiar with the basic Linux commands and operations.

• Experience with programming codes, C/C++, and other modeling tools such a Python, R, VBA, Matlab, Comsol are desirable.

• Experience in data mining techniques, including database building and cleanup would be welcome.

• Knowledge of chemical reaction, mass and heat transfer , with the ability to design experimental tests to de-couple relevant physical/chemical phenomena in order to determine fundamental data for model construction.

• Ability to combine bench scale experimental techniques with first principle models to obtain robust predictive models.
