Software Engineer (Tools and Automation)

Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

• Design and deliver software that increases the efficiency, reliability and instrumentation of operational processes.
• Expand the capabilities of the operational team by developing innovative solutions to complex cross functional challenges.
• Consult with peers in other teams to help them develop reusable code that benefits the larger organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Exceptional critical thinking / analytical skills. You'll need to be able to asses complex problems quickly.
• Exceptional communication skills in English and Czech. You'll need to be able to express your great ideas to other teams.
• Curiosity and desire to experiment with new technology. Ability to constantly learn and grow.
• Ability to take ownership of the end result and work independently.
• 2+ years experience with some flavor of LAMP.
• Experience with some flavor of SDLC tools and processes.
• Proficiency in at least one object oriented language (Python is plus) and one scripting language (bash)
• At least hobbyist level Linux proficiency, RedHat / CentOS a plus.
