Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Real-World Performance is a database development team that to provides database and application performance solutions both inside Oracle development organizations and to customers. Our approach is to use software as designed, employ numerical and logical techniques, and educate others about the best performance methods.

As a performance engineer in Real-World performance, you will work with both the database development organizations as well application development organizations and customers, and will be required to understand entire end-to-end business application processes and identify areas to apply performance engineering solutions. This work requires an understanding of Oracle databases and systems, the ability to troubleshoot, profile, trace, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc. More importantly, the candidate will need to be self-driven, motivated, and demonstrate the ability to both work independently and as part of a team. The foundation of this role is a solid experience of Oracle databases, operating systems, SQL, PL/SQL and application development experience.
