Front-End Engineer - Oracle Data Cloud

Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Front-end Engineer, your job will be to work on these products focused on the front-end part of the stack. You will work on user interfaces as well as back-end systems that power the APIs. Our stack includes Reactjs, Java, Python, PHP, Mysql, Cassandra, Spark, Hydra ( github.com/addthis/hydra ), RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, InfluxDB, Graphite, and many other open source tools.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop user-friendly interfaces and dashboards
- Develop highly scalable microservices and APIs
- Write unit, integration and browser tests, and document your work
- Build instrumentation and metrics for monitoring and alerting systems
- Research and implement new technologies to solve specific product asks

Required Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years experience with javascript (Angularjs, Reactjs, or similar frameworks)
- Strong fundamentals including an understanding of data structures, concurrent programming
- Strong understanding of web architecture, security, cookies, reverse-proxies, REST
- Able to write elegant, efficient, and testable code
- BS in Computer Science or related field

Desired:
- Experience with Java, databases (RDBMS & nosql/distributed databases), Hadoop, Spark or other distributed data processing systems, ci, devops tools, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes or similar container technologies
