May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

The Oracle Utilities Network Management System (NMS) are integrated and flexible software systems that help utilities reduce outage restoration time, improve operational efficiency, provide better service to customers and safeguard workers and the public.
Outage Management provides trouble management, outage analysis, operations dispatch, crew management, switching management, reliability reporting and other critical operations functions. In addition to application software, the Oracle Utilities Network Management System integrates with multiple business information systems– GIS, SCADA, CIS, and AMR to name a few – so operators have an accurate and real-time view of the electrical model's current conditions. It also maintains a complete and accurate history of all outage events for management and regulatory reporting.
Advanced Distribution Management (ADMS) supports Power Flow simulation, Feeder Load Management, Fault Location Analysis, Suggested Switching, Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration (FLISR) and Volt/Var optimization. These applications monitor and assess the characteristic of energy delivery in the distribution system and enables distribution operations to make better operational decisions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
Oracle is looking for an experienced Power System Engineer to join the NMS Delivery Consulting team. The Power System Engineer must have a background in electrical/power engineering, knowledge of power engineering applications, and an understanding of Real-Time Distribution Operations.
Duties include:
· Assists customers to determine business needs and, where appropriate, promote UGBU's products and services.
· Works with the project manager to develop a budget for the external design effort.
· High-level estimation of effort for design, development and testing of design solutions (ball-parking).
· Detailed estimation of effort for development and testing of design solutions.
· Analysis of business requirements.
· Understands and documents business processes.
· Records and publishes detailed minutes of discovery sessions.
· Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure.
· Configuration and testing of the client specific ADMS.
· System Integration and performance/scalability testing.
· Work leadership in resolving problems and work assignments.
· Viewed by customers as a consultant and performance is typically measured by delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.
· Customer problem solving
· Identifies changes in scope expansion and manage customer expectations of scope.
· Owns the external design and provide support throughout the development and system test phases.
· Performs system test planning and execution as required on a project.
· Troubleshooting and bug fixing.
· Provide onsite assistance during application rollout during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Go-Live.
· Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization.
