Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Cloud Technology Presales Consultants provide expertise in adoption and adherence to IaaS and PaaS solutions delivered by Oracle Public Cloud Platform.
This specific role is focused on expertise in Oracle cloud technologies available on Oracle Public Cloud. Additional responsibilities include technology assistance and direction to other teams, ensuring that all technologies work effectively together (Core Technology, Digital Platform, Hardware, Network…)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Domain leadership in Oracle cloud technologies with a strong focus on IaaS & PaaS Solution
• Design of high quality architectures that meet customer requirements and are consistent with Oracle architectural standards
• Ability to build solution with performance, scalability, and agility in a presales Mode
• Acts as a thought leader and arbiter of decisions in their specific areas of expertise (IaaS/PaaS).
• Works with other Presales team to gain consensus and establish architecture standards

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Fluency in French and English
• Ability to walk up the cloud stack (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
• Wide knowledge of IT market and trends
• Knowledge of full Oracle stack including Oracle Public Cloud Services (ideally)
• Specific knowledge of cloud competitors including AWS, Azure, Rackspace,…
• Some specific knowledge of Oracle and competitor hardware solutions (Virtual appliance like VCE, Vblock, etc)
• Some specific knowledge of Oracle database and/or Digital technology
• Detailed knowledge of architectural approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, Disaster Recovery, Information Management, Oracle and non-Oracle application
• Advanced understanding of Data Center architecture and operations in a highly virtualized environment leveraging a mixed environment

EXPERIENCE

• 6+ years of overall IT experience
• Knowledge of infrastructure components, virtualization technologies, Database, middleware and SOA
• Technical domain knowledge in cloud design and development, working knowledge of current IT and systems technologies and standards
• Business Acumen – Strong understanding of business requirements
• Ability to forge single-purpose commitment from others with disparate objectives
• Interpersonal Relations – Sells approaches through the power of ideas rather than mandates.
• Strong working verbal and written business and technical communication skills
