Job description

Do you aspire to build a strong and successful consulting career in a world leading organisation? Have you got what it takes to deliver solutions that have a real impact on the future of major organisations and the individuals who work for them? Are you ready to be constantly challenged by new and varied client issues?

Mercer is the place for you. As one of the world's largest providers of talent, health, retirement and investment services, from day one your role will contribute to the success of our clients as we provide them with expert advice on everything from pension schemes and investments to salaries, rewards and benefits.

In Talent, we provide our clients with the strategic advice and guidance they need to attract, reward, engage and develop their leaders and workforce effectively and efficiently in order to support the delivery of strategic goals.

As a graduate Talent Analyst, you'll undertake research and analysis focusing primarily on reward (executive and workforce salaries, incentives and benefits) and performance (profits, returns, market value), and wider workforce issues (role descriptions, competencies, job evaluation, employee engagement and development, internal communications and global mobility). Having gained this initial broad grounding, as you progress you will have the opportunity to drive your own career, specializing in any single segment (e.g. executive rewards), or maintaining a broad career path working across a number of segments. Your work will be supervised and, as you progress and build the basic technical and consulting skills required, you can expect to have direct client contact within the first couple of years.

Joining as a graduate within Talent in our London office, you will become part of our 14 month Graduate Development Programme commencing in September 2017. You will also have the opportunity to study towards an appropriate further qualification, for example an MSc in Human Resource Management, enabling you to become a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Key responsibilities in your role as a Graduate Talent Analyst will include:
· Obtaining meaningful, complete and accurate information from direct contact with internal and external resources
· Completing complex numerical analysis in an accurate and timely manner
· Being familiar with the business/economic issues faced by our clients and understanding basic accounting concepts
· Summarising relevant findings and client implications into a clearly articulated and well-presented document
· Writing draft reports and presentations
· Drafting original client communication materials

Desired profile

·  Minimum of 300 UCAS points, A-level B grade or above in Mathematics, with minimum 2:1 honours degree expected or obtained ideally in a numerical or semi-numerical degree (equivalent qualifications are accepted and other degrees considered)
·  An interest in driving organisational performance through people is essential
·  Willingness to complete relevant professional qualifications
·  Self-motivated, eagerness to learn and to keep up to date with relevant industry trends and market conditions
·  Ability to work as part of a team and within a collaborative environment
