PURPOSE OF JOB

The Advanced Operator is a key role within the production operating team. The Advanced Operator reports to the Shift Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to be a technical master in both operating and maintaining for the technology area and to be the expert trainer and qualifier of others learning the technology. Included in these activities are the following:

·  Technical mastery in foundational operating areas
·  Create and/or update troubleshooting guides for a unit operation or process area, and lead implementation
·  Creating and/or improve start-up/shutdown current best approaches for new/existing equipment

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

·  Operate, maintain and sanitize equipment by role modeling desired behaviors
·  Assess the current skill needs of the team in the area of technical/operational understanding; Review with shift leadership for alignment on next steps
·  Qualified to level 4 in Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Unified Problem Solving (UPS) and Work Point Analysis (WPA)
·  Complete On The Job Training and Train the Trainer training
·  Demonstrate and train others on the Lock-Out/Tag-out (LOTO) Safe Practice and can coach others on the proper LOTO procedures; Explain the intent of a safety map and coach others on the use of the safety map in area of expertise
·  Expert in the change management process
·  In your operational area of mastery, conduct a Quality Inspection multi cause investigation for a quality failures
·  Expert in the Transformational Flow Sheet for his/her area of mastery; demonstrates and coach others of the transformations in area of mastery
·  Retrieve and analyze data, and draw conclusions to eliminate defects and improve results
·  Leading/delivering process improvement/change to resolve a loss; includes data analysis, written plan, documentation, evidence of improvements; Mastery of WPA, UPS, Why-Why and Q-Factors
·  Ability to develop and deliver training on AM step 4 components - how to inspect/find defects
·  Expert of both the PM's and CIL's that are being executed in area of mastery
·  Update maintenance procedures based on equipment loss and demonstrate the ability to coach others
·  Expert of the SOPs, Job Aids, One Point Lessons, Step Up Cards for area of mastery
·  Expert of the Centerline Systems for area to identify critical parameters and optimum settings to deliver consistent stops, touches and reliability results; Able to teach and qualify others on this capability
·  Maintain ideal equipment/area ownership and coach others on similar execution
·  Qualified to lead daily direction setting in the appropriate forum for your role (team, function, site)
·  Qualified as expert level 5 in all Run To Target, Daily Management Systems
·  Good communication skills across team/site/other plants, written and verbal, as needed to seek input, gain alignment, and inform others about a project.
·  Participation, key leader in area, technology functional team; Attend functional meetings

·  Input on selection of spares
·  Make changes to SOP’s and Job aids as necessary to maintain equipment to eliminate losses
·  Preventive maintenance changes to eliminate losses
·  Centerline changes based on historical data to eliminate losses

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

None- but must be a good communicatior and have good relations with others. Provide feedback on new hires or new Associates training progress for ITMS.
