Job Purpose

Responsible for Retail General buying activity. Vacancy created due to the transfer for Jeanne Zander within Commercial. Workload still requires this role to be filled.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Purchase indirect goods & services by securing price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategies by applying a wide range of sourcing tools
·  Implement supply base strategy. Assess and develop suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities.
·  Establish & maintain relationships with Finance, department managers (e.g. Store operations, merchandising mgr., supply chain mgr., etc.) interface with specific teams to ensure understanding of needs in order to facilitate the appropriate creation of scope and delivery of goods/service.
·  Work with key internal clients.
·  Deploy and manage internal tools (SAP/COSMOS/FUSION) in line with policies, systems & controls.
·  Provide market and financial insights and inputs to the external and internal sourcing supplier strategy
·  Participate in team knowledge transfer
·  Provide input to develop MRG MSSM and retail commercial strategies
·  Partner with S&F and key stakeholders in the development and deployment of ICE and internal governance standards
·  Participate in external forums and associations
·  Participate & lead, when required, engagement programs, executive presentations, and AD HOC requests.
·  Acts as the liaison between commercial and S&F and suppliers to communicate changing business needs (e.g. specification, volume changes, etc.)
·  Works with other functions to support new product launches, line extensions, and execution of continuous improvement programs for goods and services in scope and specific to Mars Retail efforts.
·  Develops & implements a continuous improvement action plan. Monitors changes and adjusts the plan as needed to sustain performance results
·  Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. supplier owned inventory, forecast management, electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc.)
·  Manage all related commercial, financial & ethical issues and is capable of seeking/providing advice in new or complex situations
·  Work in collaboration with other operation managers
·  Influences clients to align with global & regional buying strategy

Context and Scope:

Buyer is responsible for assigned subcategories and will work as part of the MRG Commercial ensuring that contract requests meet stake holders needs as well as compliance guidelines. Buyer is responsible for achieving specific aligned savings targets and efficiency In line with Mars five principles supporting the execution of retail commercial strategy.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Fluent in English

Min one-year experience
