Packaging and Raw Material Planner

Supply – Logistics

£26,800 - £33,500 + benefits

Location: Castle Cary, Somerset

BACKGROUND

Due to a career move, we now have an exciting opportunity to join the planning team at James Wellbeloved.

The role of Packaging and RM planner is a fast-paced role and every day is a learning opportunity.

THE JOB

Aligned with the 5 principles and our safety & quality Mars Standards, the purpose of the job is:

·  Planning and management of packaging deliveries to support Site Activity projects and production requirements both for James Wellbeloved and our Co-manufacturer / Co-pack suppliers. Managing NQC write offs additionally.
·  Planning of Raw Material contracts and deliveries, with support from the Inbound Key User and Raw Materials Scheduler.
·  Supplier management with the Commercial Buyer of Raws and Packaging, reviewing performance and managing buying efficiencies when possible.
·  Procurement of Consumables (Tertiary packaging) (Purchasing / Sourcing etc) for the James Wellbeloved Site. This Includes renewal of existing contracts with support of Commercial and new materials required to the site.

KEY OUTPUTS

·  Planning Deliveries of Packaging and Raw Materials, in line with requirements - while using the Inbound Key User to assess best operational plan / Impact. Driving engagement and productivity.
·  Contract and Supplier management with support from commercial Buyer for Packs and Raw Materials, looking at continuous Improvement projects and service level agreement on supply.
·  Working with the Central Planning and Factory Scheduler and Logistics Planner, to report and assess any packaging shortfalls versus demand. Making necessary trade-offs to secure supply vs cost.
·  Support the IE and Logistics manager in achieving and improving agreed performance criteria, this includes Safety / Quality / Efficiency and Cost
·  Play an active and key role In any future Site activity projects. Looking at reductions In NQC where possible and sharing best practice with other sites.
·  System Key user, supporting the IE and Logistics manager In setting up the replenishment system (RCLMS) and Navision (financial) system to best reflect the cost to serve Impact of procurement through to supply.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Profile

Education & Professional Qualification

·  Minimum 5 GCSE grade C or above (including English and Mathematics)
·  NVQ Level 3 or A level equivalent (preferably in Supply Chain Subject)
·  Fluency in English.

Knowledge/Experience

·  Experience in a supply chain environment: broad manufacturing experience (i.e. logistics and warehousing); understanding of lean manufacturing; good functional skills.
·  Passion for and a proven track record of developing and training associates.
·  Able to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the factory during times of ambiguity.
·  Strong Microsoft Excel skills, and with a keen interest in developing this area.

·  You will be based on-site at Castle Cary with some occasional flexiblity to work from home.
