CVS Team Lead

Job Purpose
The CVS lead supports the planning and execution of product and business development projects in terms of development, launch execution, and post launch evaluation. CVS Leads will partner with the CVS Manager to support all commissioning, validation and start up activities for all projects. All positions to support CVS according to CVS Best Practice Doc.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support all CVS activities including project launch execution and post launch evaluation
2. Coordinate commissioning, validation and start-up for all major and small minor projects at the site
3. Communicate with plant management to ensure appropriate resources are in place.
4. Develop the CVS plan to include Global Best Practices for Quality & Food Safety
5. Create Standard Operating Procedures to maximize operational effectiveness.
6. Transfer equipment knowledge and operation through Factory directed training or personal hands on training.
7. Create detailed work instructions for support of new projects
8. Set up and chair meetings related to CVS activities and Project information
9. Resolve cross functional issues and agree on actions, follow up on actions, define and report on milestones
10. Support site CVS activities including coordination of resources, collaboration with engineering group, leading cross-functional decision-making teams concerning project activities, developing the CVS plan, creating standard operating procedures and maximizing the operational effectiveness of start-up.
11. Although not directly responsible for the CVS budget, the Lead must make decisions based on budgeted amounts and understand its trade-offs
12. Support large number of VAT/FATs as needed for projects
13. Develop close working relationship with Lean / Continuous improvement Manager to identify cost reduction opportunities throughout the site and implement lean solutions to reduce waste, improve yield, increase TRS, and maximize productivity, labour and equipment utilization.
14. Support overall MSE programs for the site including MSE training and implementation of MSE programs.

Context and Scope
The CVS lead will report the CVS Area Manager for their assigned area and have responsibilities for the planning and execution of CVS actives. They will follow the NA Petcare CVS program and ensure that all steps of the CVS process are executed and documented. This will also include working with equipment vendors to learn best practices and then create documentation to ensure the proper training of new operators for the equipment. They will also be responsible for following MSE standards and ensuring their implementation into their assigned areas.

Job Specifications/Qualifications
Education and Professional Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment

Knowledge & Experience:
• 3+ years in a high-speed food manufacturing/automated environment
• Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to train others
