JOB SUMMARY

The capital analyst works with the Manager, Capital Projects and Fixed Assets Accounting and assists with effective management/fulfilment of all ongoing Capital Projects by providing administrative support, including categorization and processing of AP invoices, timely reporting of project status, tracking of approved expenditure budgets, maintenance of Escrow bank accounts and maintenance of asset registers.

Assist in preparation of FF&E Budgets

Administer Project Costing module in Peoplesoft

·
Maintain capital cost v budget files

·
Reconcile GL and Bank accounts

·
Prepare Fixed Asset Templates for Leased/Owned properties

·
Overview Fixed Assets for Leased/Owned properties

·
Maintain Building Estimate approvals and expenditures for ‘Eagle' portfolio of hotels

·
Guide Finance teams through capital expenditure processes

·
Advise Finance teams on capitalization policies/rules

·
Liaise/Communicate with Senior Marriott management, owners and owners' representatives and other intermediaries

·
Attend Meetings with Owners and owners' representatives and other intermediaries

·
Maintains a link between hotel and central finance function.

·
Ensures compliance with Marriott capital processes and policies

Candidate Profile

Experience

·
At least 2 years experience within a Finance function within a commercial environment, preferably in a multi-site operation, with a bias towards either P2P (purchase to pay), R2R (record to report) or treasury.

Skills & Knowledge

·
Computer literate with strong Excel skills, minimum of intermediate level.

·
Working knowledge of IAS16 and FRS15 as well as UK/US GAP. Some knowledge of USALI preferred

Education or Certification

·
Degree in Finance/ Accounting or similar qualification desirable. Alternatively, an additional 1-2 years' work experience in this or a related field may suffice
