The content of the position is in English as it requires many interactions with our international subsidiaries, English being the working language.

 

Within the Essilor Instruments department, the Statistics & Modelisation Engineer will join the Scientific Department, under the responsibility of the Technological Innovation Team Manager. He/She will join a team responsible for delivering technological and mathematical innovations for creating new instruments and expand existing instruments.

 

What will be your areas of responsibilities: 

 

·  Create new modelling methods using advanced statistical techniques.
·  Deliver regulatory-grade protocols and reports with the use of state-of-the art software.
·  Support Lead Biostatistician in clinical studies and projects.
·  Contribute to bringing new ideas of products and functions to the Innovation Pipeline.

 

You will ideally bring the following technical skills:  

 

·  Fluent in coding with one or several of the following software: R, Statistica, SPSS, SAS, Python.
·  Practical knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such a multivariate analysis, non-parametric techniques, Bayesian inference, descriptive statistics and graphical methods
·  Clinical trials: experimental design and sampling strategy, sample size calculation, statistical analysis plans, study protocol drafting & reviewing.
·  Practical knowledge of machine learning tools
·  Literature search and analysis
·  Comfortable communicating in English is a must; French a strong plus
·  Curious, Eager to learn and grow
·  Interested in making a difference to the health of people

 

You will have the following profile and background:

 

·  Educational Background: Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or Mathematics major (BAC +5)
·  PhD in STEM is optional
·  At least 3- 5 years’ experience in a technical role
·  A first experience with clinical data
·  An experience with clinical research and/or biostatistical model development would be an asset.
