DESCRIPTION:

The Asset Protection Lead Officer is an individual contributor position with the Asset Protection team and is responsible for supporting the protection of our enterprise assets, which include: people, product and property. Our mission is to become the leading Asset Protection department whose capabilities, knowledge of our business and understanding of our customer allows us to ensure associate safety and respond to crisis situations. The Asset Protection Lead Officer supports campus protection and safety through execution of core campus posts, including: Campus Gates, Lobby Desks, Interior and Exterior Campus Roves. This individual must maintain company and departmental policy and procedural expertise and ongoing action readiness for incidents related to life safety and enterprise shrink. This individual provides operational guidance to the team in support of leadership and may participate and lead campus investigations. Position typically reports to the Supervisor of Asset Protection and has no direct reports, but is responsible for training/coaching and supporting the development of Asset Protection associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Ensure associates, vendors and visitors follow safety and security related policies and procedures on campus.
·  Create and manage weekly shift schedules for the campus.
·  Provide operational direction to team and direct team activities in the absence of a supervisor.
·  Evaluate performance, coach, and develop talent to continue build the team’s capabilities.
·  Demonstrate effective problem solving and decision making that supports the values and mission of Asset Protection.
·  Effectively communicate with business partners, external partners, local law enforcement and emergency responders.
·  React and respond urgently, as first and supporting responders, to campus safety and medical incidents.
·  Identify and assess safety related incidents which may include but are not limited to: First Aid, Life Safety and Internal Theft.
·  Monitors and maintains the compliance with C-TPAT, OSHA, EPA and state and local regulations pertaining to safety, fire safety and environmental protection.
·  Maintain detailed and current knowledge of the campus (logistics operations, campus layout, and key business partners).
·  Accurately write and submit necessary reports on campus safety and security incidents.
·  Retain and implement knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrating responsible and dependable behavior, and is open to change and adapts to new information or unexpected obstacles
·  Greet, engage and assist associates, vendors and visitors at lobby and entrance gates; Monitor access control to buildings.
·  Conducts roves in his/her assigned area to detect and appropriately respond to safety and/or security issues. These roves can be performed on foot and/or motor vehicle, as assigned.
·  Validate and document all outgoing trucks and partner with internal transportation teams on incoming and outbound product.
·  Assist in completion of campus inspections and investigations.
·  Support projects and initiatives as assigned by Supervisor or Campus Manager.
·  Facilitate and maintain annual certification of CPR/First Aid.
·  Participate in Asset Protection programs, project meetings and committees as needed.
·  Facilitate/Participate in training processes with all new officers and initiatives

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Must have a valid driver’s license
·  3 to 5 years of security/safety experience preferred
·  Supervisory experience preferred but not required
·  Excellent organizational and project management skills
·  Experience with identifying safety related issues preferred
·  Excellent customer service skills
·  Effective written and verbal communication skills
·  Basic computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, SAP, access control software & Web based programs
·  First Aid, CPR and AED certification – annually certified
·  Functional knowledge of role and responsibilities
·  Must possess good organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.
·  Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (up to 2 hours)
·  Ability to climb a standard ladder up to 15 feet
·  Ability to climb stairs (2 or more flights at one time) at a casual, brisk or rapid pace
·  Ability to walk continuously for extended periods of time (2 or more hours)
·  Ability to walk over uneven terrain
·  Ability lift or drag up to 105 lbs. up to 50 feet
·  Job duties require working in inclement weather
·  May be required to work weekends and holidays
