Accounts Assistant

Llantrisant (near Cardiff) Based

This is a development role for someone who wishes to become a qualified accountant. You will gain experience in all areas of financial accounting but your main responsibility will be to maintain the fixed asset register. There is the potential for a future move into other roles in the company (potentially in our Head Office in Hammersmith London).

What are key highlights of this role?

The role will include:

·  Maintenance of the fixed asset register and reporting.
·  To prepare both UK and Ireland VAT Returns.
·  The preparation and reporting of Intrastat.
·  Calculation of prepayments and accruals.
·  Journal processing.
·  Balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
·  Assisting the preparation of the Group's quarterly reporting pack.
·  To be proactive, propose and implement improvements to systems and procedures.
·  Exposure to other financial accounting tasks

Preferred qualifications/experience:

You should be confident that you can demonstrate the following:

·  AAT qualified (or equivalent)
·  Strong excel skills.
·  Experience in Microsoft Office - word / powerpoint.
·  Good attention to detail.
·  Excellent analytical skills.
·  Ability to work autonomously.
·  Strong interpersonal / communication skills.
·  Ability to build effective relationships.
·  Challenge processes / propose solutions.
·  Team spirit, commitment and a strong work ethic.
·  Committed to study for a CIMA / ACCA qualification (study support available).
