KPMG currently has an opportunity for an experienced proofreader.

The proofreader is responsible for ensuring that all assignments received are prepared with accuracy and timeliness. In order to support our clients we operate extended hours during our busier months ofFebruary to June each year.
There is a need for all department staff to be flexible during busy periods. As a result overtime may be required from time to time.

Role and Responsibilities

·  Proofreading financial statements (and other financial documents):Reading typed copy to working papers, checking note references and additions.
·  Checking spelling, punctuation, verb tense and sentence structure.

·  Ensuring application of KPMG style and format.

·  Reviewing interrelationships within financial statements and checking for consistency.

·  Provide value-added feedback to professional staff regarding financial statements and other financial documents.

·  Communicate effectively with department staff and KPMG professional staff regarding completion and other assignment related issues.

At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.

Skills & Qualifications

·  A minimum of 3 years experience as a proofreader
·  Perfectly bilingual (French /English)
·  Attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
·  Able to work independently (with minimal supervision) as well as part of a team environment.
·  Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
·  Good problem solving skills.
·  Able to work effectively and accurately in time constrained situations.
·  Financial statement knowledge.
·  Exceptional written and verbal competency, in both languages.
·  Goodknowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
