Roles and Responsibilities
General:
• Understand the requirements, design, develop and unit test the code
• Take complete ownership of the requirements and deliver
• Code should be properly unit tested before delivering
• Create and maintain necessary artefacts
• Participate in design and other team meetings
• Cross train to avoid single point of failure
Qualifications and Skills
BE/BTECH /MCA or Equivalent.
Candidates with certification in database, BI/DA will be great addition.
• Extensive knowledge in building and/or reviewing Excel Data models/solutions, and a strong understanding of spreadsheet best practice.
• Knowledge in custom VBA (Visual Basic for Application) coding in MS Excel, MS Access
• Understanding in Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools - Power Pivot, Power View and Power BI
• Working knowledge in Relational Database and Data Manipulation
• The candidate should have in-depth knowledge in various stages of SDLC
• Hands on experience in requirement gathering, analysing, developing and testing a product/data model/project
Experience and Background
• Understand high level requirements from Global team and work closely with product owners to plan and budget projects accordingly
• Manage the assignment of specific responsibilities relating to project by coordinating with peers within the team for relevant roles and job functions
• Interact with client, do requirement analysis, propose solution, estimation, listing down assumptions and risks
• Create working proof of concept for projects
• Responsible for writing User Defined Functions using VBA to create custom function in MS Excel, MS Access
• Must be good in reviewing client/peer build data models and evaluate the pros and cons
• Good working knowledge in Power Pivot to create data models within Excel workbook
• Understanding business needs to explore, visualize and present data in Power View
• Basic exposure to Power BI or similar BI tool will be helpful
• Good understanding in relational databases
• Handle large database of in GBs with ability to write/edit/modify SQL to transform larger datasets
• Experience in integrating MS Excel with MS Access, MS SQL Server or MS SharePoint
• Analyze complex data sets and convert them into the information which drives business decisions
• Express strong voice for data integrity and reporting quality utilizing best practices and industry standards
• Experience writing technical documentation and user guides; providing end-user training and support
• Driven and accountable self-starter, with ability to identify and communicate priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced industry in a rapidly growing team
'• Five to Seven years of experience in Accounting/Finance/Information Technology (IT) of which last 2 years should be in building MS Excel/MS Access based models and creating custom reports in some form of business intelligence
• Experience with accounting, data analysis, business processes and related datasets and experience in Excel, VBA, Access and SQL. Experience with PowerPivot and other data organization / presentation software such as Alteryx, Tableau and Qlikview is also desirable
• Candidates with certifications in Database, Business Intelligence or Data Analytical will be a great addition
