Job description
We are currently looking for a Shipper/Receiver to support our Contract Logistics business at a position located in Mississauga, ON. The Shipper/Receiver prepares merchandise for shipment or receives incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials. Prepares appropriate documents and maintains records. Requires a sound understanding of documents and procedures gained through experience. May require elementary typing and/or use of terminal based system.
Responsibilities
-Receives requisitions, processes paperwork and marks
merchandise for shipping (may do some packing of small merchandise into
containers);
-Conducts periodic inventory checks;
-Receives materials and verifies correctness of
shipments against bills of lading or other records, checks for shortages,
identifies damaged goods, routes merchandise to proper locations;
-Ensures accuracy, completeness of all documents and
records;
-May prepare standard summary reports.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience working in a Warehouse/ Distribution Centre;
-Experience in a junior leadership position is considered an asset with :
-Direct experience with distribution centre processes required (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns);
-Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills;
-Proven ability to delegate tasks and prioritize work;
-Assist team by receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns, value added processing and sub-assembly to ensure deadlines are met;
