Sea Logistics - Pricing Specialist

Your Role

Pricing Specialist has the overall responsibility to optimize and develop the GP/volume associated to assigned trade. He/ She owns the pricing strategy for the responsible scope and collaborating with other functions to execute the strategy successfully; Influence and optimize GP through offering the selling rate for sales and support in securing space and equipment when it is required; Liaising with Trade Management to procure sea freight rates, negotiating with Shipping Lines where it is necessary. Provide local feedback to network proactively to support their decision making process in relation to VN market. He / She is responsible for volume performance of the assigned scope, development of Total GP and average yield. Conduct daily, weekly & monthly review with sales & ops to improve profit; Work in partnership with local Sales to understand customer requirements and shipping lines’ products & networks. Liaise and support sales to gain new, retain + further develop existing accounts; Proactively get involved and assist business owners for RFQ related requests.

Your Responsibilities

Pricing

·  Creating a pricing plan for the trade with alignment from managers and regional. Ensure the plan is communicated to stakeholders and aligned accordingly for maximum support.
·  Developing overall understanding of the market including main carriers, main customers, and main competitors in order to guide internal stakeholders for appropriate actions and adapt with changes in the market.
·  To procure rates, space (supporting for both local sales and nomination as well as tri-angle businesses once required).
·  Utilize KN Pricing Systems & build the most efficient tools for pricing. Proactively collect market insights and share with relevant audiences.
·  Practicing cost based pricing, competition based pricing and value based pricing and through daily activities, using pricing as a method to influence the commercial outcomes, contributing to the overall performance of the organization.
·  To complete tender documents as involved/required. Coordinating/Team working within Pricing Team might be required during period of one specific tender/RFQ.
·  To liaise with Kuehne+Nagel network office in regard to related issues/services such as rates & charges/surcharges

Pricing excellent responsibility

·  Continuously improve, influence the way pricing team work together and work with other stakeholders. Make sure we are in control of both productivity and the delivery of final results/targets.
·  Continuously develop and enhance the pricing plan, in both content and tactics. Making sure that this is a living document.
·  Having priorities in place for short, medium and longer term and ensure deliverables are matched with the expectation.
·  Managing stakeholders through clear communication with facts and figures.
·  Showing a “can do” attitude, as well as “consultant” and “service” minded while working as an individual specialist or in cross functional settings.
·  To make joint sales calls as required to understand customers and their business; while also collect the information regarding to market and competitions for following-up analysis.
·  To develop a constructive and professional relationship with carriers. Establish a solid working procedure and 2 ways of communication with strategic carriers.

·  Participate or lead the micro projects that is established for purpose of solving a specific problems or improving a specific processes.

Your Skills and Experiences

·  Possess Bachelor Degree
·  At least 03-year working experience within industry, especially having experience in  freight Forward
·  Pricing and working with shipping lines
·  Having knowledge on overall market and industry
·  Good at Communication, Presentation, Negotiation skill
·  Good command of English
