Job description

The primary focus of this dedicated safety professional will be to administer local and corporate safety programs emphasizing a proactive approach to employee safety and accident prevention. Safety coordinator will be the advocate for employee workplace health and safety.

Your tasks and responsibilities

•Coordinates and manages facility safety programs in accordance with established corporate, federal, state and local requirements.

•Identify possible safety hazards in the workplace in order to prevent accidents from occurring.

•Review the workplace and assess possible dangers including trip and fall hazards, fire dangers and any other possibility of injury to workers.

•Enforce the use of required safety gear and procedures.

•When possible safety hazards have been identified in the workplace, the safety representative is responsible for assisting the QSHE Manager in establishing a set of parameters and guidelines to prevent an injury from occurring.

•Responsible for educating employees and management on all safety guidelines and procedures established for the company as a whole, as well as those specific guidelines established for individual job functions.

•Responsible for monitoring adherence to established safety standards.

•Conduct regularly scheduled safety audits, daily monitoring and surprise inspections, a safety representative will consistently review how the employees and managers are implementing established safety standards.

•Audits safety training records to ensure 100% compliance.

•Report on injury and accident percentages, and suggest adjustments that may be needed to the safety policies and procedures to account for new activity or dangers.

Your skills and experience

Communications-Ability to communicate with clarity in a timely manner

Team Commitment-Ability to support teamwork to accomplish objectives

Detail Oriented- Ability to provide accurate and efficient results

Requirements:

Requires 2-5 years experience of Occupational Health and Safety in a distribution/production environment.

Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA/EPA requirements.

Must be qualified to conduct forklift certification.

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field preferred.

Work Schedule is Monday - Friday
