In a context of growth of our BeLux Sales organization, we are currently offering a District Sales Manager position within our Sales team to ensure the realization of the targeted sales results within an assigned sales district, on 1 to 3 transport modalities done with existing and new small and midsized customers.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Operational:
· Act as first line contact for small & midsized customers who address operational issues on shipments: you are responsible to redirect the customer towards the appropriate department within KN operations.
· Together with Operational Managers and/or Team Leaders, develop and agree on Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions for new customers.
· Act as final escalation contact on all operational issues raised either way by customers or by KN staff.
· Work on a daily basis in close cooperation with the Inside Sales Team Leader and team members.
Sales:
· Develop and optimize the contact with new and potential small & midsized customers through regular visits.
· Develop a pipeline of potential small & midsized customers within your area of responsibility.
· Make sure new business growth targets for new small & midsized customers within your area of responsibility are either met or exceeded. (in terms of numbers, volume, gross profit)
· Initiate and create the need within small & midsized customers for new traffics, KN products, Customer Solutions, ...
· Actively identify and track cross-selling opportunities.
· Act as final escalation point on financial and invoicing issues with small & midsized customers such as overdue exceeding credit limits, large amounts of pending invoices, financial guarantees, ...
Administration:
· Organize, register and follow-up customer information within our sales information system.
· Regularly report on the success, pipe line as well as lost opportunities on the own portfolio within our sales information system.
Quality:
· Work conform the KN QSHE and Compliance guidelines and procedures.
· Work conform the existing and applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions within Sales, contribute in creating new ones.
Your skills and experience
· Bachelor or Master in Logistics/Business Management/Sales.
· Minimum 5 years in International Forwarding, preferably within the Supply Chain and Logistics industry (Sea, Air, Overland).
· Advanced sales hunting and negotiating skills.
· Strong communication skills (written & verbal), assertiveness.
· Expert knowledge and experience in forwarding and logistics processes within at least 1 transport modality.
· Expert knowledge of forwarding and logistic products and solutions within at least 1 transport modality.
· Expert knowledge of pricing within forwarding.
· Basic knowledge of sales information systems + BO - reporting module.
· Advanced knowledge MS Office : Explorer, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
· Advanced knowledge of French (mother tongue or bilingual), Dutch and English (speaking and writing).
