Caring for the world, one person at a time has inspired and united the people of Johnson & Johnson for over 130 years. We embrace research and science -- bringing innovative ideas, products and services to advance the health and well-being of people.

With $76.5 billion in 2017 sales, Johnson & Johnson is the world's most comprehensive and broadly-based manufacturer of health care products, as well as a provider of related services, for the consumer, pharmaceutical, and medical devices markets. There are more than 250 Johnson & Johnson operating companies employing over 125,000 people and with products touching the lives of over a billion people every day, throughout the world. If you have the talent and desire to touch the world, Johnson & Johnson has the career opportunities to help make it happen.

Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.

The J&J Design Studio is the internal design team of Johnson & Johnson, and creates compelling end-user solutions across all the Company's business groups: Consumer, Pharma and Medical Devices. Located in New York City, the Studio is comprised of 2D, 3D, DXD, UX/UI, CGI and Design Operations categories and numbers 100 professionals, many with advanced degrees in their chosen design specialties.

J&J Design is looking for creative, talented Interns and Co-ops. Through the Internship and Co-op program students will gain hands-on, real world experience in all aspects of the design development process. Interns and Co-ops will also have numerous opportunities presented to them that supplement this singular educational experience such as networking, mentoring options and cross-functional exposure. We currently have opportunities in the following areas:

Computer Generated Imagery

The CGI co-op will assist the J&J Design Imaging Team to create photo-realistic renders of products across the J&J business groups including Consumer, Pharma and Medical Device. The imagery you work with the team to create will be used to aid the design process, in presentations, packaging, marketing and advertising. During this Co-op you will be challenged with your proficiency in CGI software including Maya, Vray, Nuke and Adobe CC and learn techniques from some of the top artists in this field.

Industrial Design

Industrial Design co-ops will gain experience in design development and will be able to prototype product concepts that push us towards a brighter future. The focus will be on packaging and device design through the lens of the consumer, patient or healthcare professional's experience.

Insights Experience & Strategy

The co-op will use Design Thinking and its associated skill sets including ethnography, synthesis, generative facilitation, and storytelling to help teams develop new ideas. The ideal candidate can re-frame challenges based on insight and enable teams to collaborate. Your deliverables lie in learning, framing, envisioning and even making new, holistic experiences of care.

Business Solutions

The Business Solutions co-op will work with Solutions teams and assist in the development and execution of strategic programs within the consumer, healthcare, and corporate sectors. In this role, you will gain deep knowledge of product and service design in order to drive innovation and deliver differentiated holistic solutions.

DXD

The Digital Experience Design co-op will participate and gain experience in product and platform design by applying skills in UX research, design thinking, information architecture, and user-interface design to create and engage people. The role has the potential to impact a variety of J&J touch points, including websites, human-machine interfaces, mobile apps, wearables, and hospital environments.

Creative Operations

Creative Operations brings structure, process and metrics to the creative process to optimize timelines, capacity and costs. Studio Resourcing, the J&J Design Project Management Office, and Operations make up the Creative Operations team. In this role, you will assist with a variety of tasks: studio management, leading internal initiatives, and data visualization. Additional projects may include resourcing analysis, process analysis, program launches, special events coordination, website updates, and a capstone project that will give you experience and exposure to numerous design capabilities.

Fundamental Application Requirements:
