As a premium grocer, Waitrose is different to other supermarkets, both for our customers and our Partners (employees). Our service and passion for quality, tasty food that is sustainably produced sets us apart. Helping our customers to share in our values and feel GOOD about their food.

As a Team Manager, you'll be responsible for influencing, motivating and guiding your team in your shared goal to provide a shopping experience to our customers that is distinctively Waitrose.

You'll contribute to the Partnership's overall performance through exemplary shop keeping and people management skills. All while being a positive role model for delivering outstanding Partner-led, customer service. You'll ensure consistently high levels of availability and merchandising as well as delivering an efficient, legal, and secure store operation.

It's fast paced and at times you'll oversee the entire day to day operation of the shop, using your commercial skills to maximize sales and profit, customer satisfaction and minimize wastage. As a leader, you'll empower Partners to act with authority and accountability while enjoying satisfying work by cultivating a supportive culture of care, belonging, pace and productivity.

This role is subject to the following pre-employment screening: 5 year reference check, Basic Disclosure and 5 Year financial probity. We occasionally close vacancies early if we see a high volume of applications. We'd, therefore, recommend you apply early so you don't miss out. Now is the time to save the job description too if you'd like to refer to it later in the application journey.

In our Partners, we look for those who take great pride in their work and strive for the highest standards. As a co-owner, we want you to treat where you work as your own and take great care in the service we provide to our customers. As a Team Manager, you'll use that same pride to support your team to be the best they can be.

You'll need to demonstrate your flexibility and adaptability as you understand where the needs of the shop and our customers are at different times in your day and be ready to help out when needed. On occasion, you'll take on the responsibility of Duty Manager and Deputy Head of Branch.

Your strong leadership and team working skills will make all the difference to your Partners and, ultimately, the impression our customers have about the Waitrose brand, keeping them returning again and again by earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime. All the while helping to maximise on sales and profit.

Experience of leading a team in a fast-paced, customer focused environment is required and we'll make sure you have all the other training you need to help you perform at your best, everyday.
