Job description



Essential Functions: 

-Perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.

-Adjusting  doors,  replacing  door  seals,  replacing  door  locks  replacing  or  repairing  door  fittings,  repairing  minor damage to doors.

-Repairing  minor  damage  to  windows,  adjusting  windows,  replacing  seals  around windows,  replacing  or  fitting window locks, replacing or repairing window handles and other fittings, inserting emergency glazing

-Repairing or replacing broken or missing hinges

-Repairing minor problems with all fixtures and fittings

-Clearing up accidental damage such as broken glass or minor flooding

-Hanging of shelves, pictures, art work, coat hooks and white boards as requested by facility.

-Repairing slight damage on various flooring

-Perform general maintenance on facility equipment with a professional and safe approach

-Maintain up to date & complete system documentation in a central resource location, for all repairs or changes to the system.

-Maintain tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs

-Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
-Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
-Prior knowledge of working within a lab environment is a plus.
-Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment.
-Completion of written documentation is required.

Working Environment: 
-The working environment is a pharmaceutical research development and office location.

Minimum Required Education / Experience 
-High school diploma or state equivalent required
-Prior experience maintaining a high tech or modern facility is highly desirable.

-Minimum of 2-4 years in general / facilities or equivalent combination of education and experience

-Good verbal and written communications skills are required

-Completion of written documentation is required

Computer proficiency in email, Microsoft office
