WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Jaguar Land Rover PLM programme team is responsible for all aspects of PLM toolset selection, implementation, use and support. The team is employed to replace a complex array of legacy systems inherited as part of the separation from Ford. The focus is to move JLR Engineering Operations out of their current toolsets and move them into a PLM suite which will open opportunities for more efficient delivery of our vehicle programmes delivering great products faster to our customers.

The Geometry Authoring team are responsible for delivering technical solutions across various work streams covering functional capabilities such as Cad data.

The Core Visualisation Team are responsible for delivering technical solutions across various work streams covering functional capabilities such as Engineer Geometry Checks, Vehicle CAD Reviews, Cross car-line assessments and Clash analysis.

You’ll work within the PLM programmes core team alongside other domains to deliver projects to enhance JLR’s technical capability within V6 3D Experience.

 

A major part of this job role will be working with the business process owners and expert users across JLR to improve utilisation/adoption of CAD tools and methods particularly by working with our business customers.

 

This will also include supporting software testing of new releases and updates to ensure the solution continues to meet or exceed the business requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As a PLM Application Engineer you’ll have a general understanding of CAD requirements with experience of executing CAD activities within a PLM-managed environment.   

 

You’ll have used specific CAD Tools such as Dassault Systems, V6 3D Experience, Enovia and Catia V5 whilst also demonstrating an analytical approach to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from your own knowledge base.

You’ll be a confident communicator and exhibit the ability to present data & issues to a varied audience supporting Problem Resolution using structured approaches whilst managing risk and issues that may arise.

A relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred as the ideal candidate you must be resilient open and ready to learn new skills consume complex problems leading to ownership as you develop your skillset over time.

You’ll also be confident in working independently or as part of a team demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance and comfortable working in a highly demanding environment.

 

You’ll have had previous experience of PLM programmes and Project Management with a good track record of delivery and have requirement gathering and testing skills, knowledge of verification and validation techniques and the ability to assess solution change requests.

You’ll also display a good understanding of Google Tools and Microsoft Excel skills, strong organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and successfully plan and prioritise workload is key to this role.
