WHAT TO EXPECT

The Jaguar Land Rover PLM programme team is responsible for all aspects of PLM toolset selection, implementation, use and support. The team is employed to replace a complex array of legacy systems inherited as part of the separation from Ford. The focus is to move JLR Engineering Operations out of their current toolsets and move them into a PLM suite which will open opportunities for more efficient delivery of our vehicle programmes delivering great products faster to our customers.

The High End Visualisation Team are responsible for delivering technology solutions across various work streams covering Early Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales as well as Service and Special Vehicles. These solutions support photo realistic digital representations of JLR products created directly from CAD geometry, configured as Marketing have defined, and coloured as Design intended; the result will be the ability to view virtual vehicles throughout the product creation process.

High End Visualisation is the next generation of technology for designing, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and selling JLR’s exciting products in the 21st century. Delivering high end visuals of our products straight to customers worldwide in such a way that they can create and see their desired vehicle, change colours trims and even the surrounding scenery.

This role will support the delivery of projects and their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. Typically, this will involve the planning, co-ordination & delivery of specific projects to enhance JLR’s technical capability within Dassault Systemes V6 3DExperience platform, Catia Icem Experience (IEX), 3DExcite Deltagen & Picturebook plus other Vendor’s product creation software.

You'll also identify opportunities for improving utilisation/adoption of High End Visualisation experiences, tools and methods, particularly by working with business customers, software vendors and technology suppliers.

This will also include working with the Product Development expert users across JLR to improve the adoption of High End Visualisation tools, methodologies and processes as well as software testing of new software releases and updates to ensure the High End Visualisation solutions continue to meet or exceed the business requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As a PLM Application Engineer you’ll have a general understanding of 3D High End Visualisation requirements with experience of executing CAD or Visualisation activities within a PLM-managed environment.   

 

You’ll have used specific High End Visualisation Tools such as Dassault Systems, V6 3D Experience, 3D Live and Catia Composer whilst also demonstrating an analytical approach to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from your own knowledge base.

A relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred as the ideal candidate you must be resilient open and ready to learn new skills consume complex problems leading to ownership as you develop your skillset over time.

You’ll have had previous experience of PLM programmes and Project Management with a good track record of delivery and have requirement gathering and testing skills, knowledge of verification and validation techniques and the ability to assess solution change requests.

You’ll be a confident communicator and exhibit the ability to present data & issues to a varied audience supporting Problem Resolution using structured approaches whilst managing risk and issues that may arise.
