The Big Data Technology Group in Software and Services Group SSG is looking for a Software Performance Engineer to work on optimization of Big Data software and solutions. In this position you will need to work with Open Source software community closely to ensure their software are optimized for Intel platforms. While the focus is Big Data Software, it may involve any layer of the solution stack such as storage, virtualization, container etc. You will be responsible for selecting the workloads, tuning and measuring the performance, analyzing the data, identifying the improvement opportunities and then implementing the optimization if needed. You will also need to understand the Intel platform features and know how to leverage those features from software perspective. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and managing the expectations are also part of the job scope. Responsibilities: This position is mostly software development in Java on Windows* and Linux* platforms. In this position, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: - Designing, developing/coding, and debugging software product and test tools - Reviewing and providing strong feedback on software product specifications and design specifications- Debugging software and system issues - Setup and maintenance software test infrastructure- Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and communication skills - Work well in a team

Desired profile

-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required, Master's Degree strongly preferred -Solid Java, C / C++,programming language knowledge -Adequate knowledge in system administration, scripting language, data analyzing and visualization tools-Demonstrated understanding of server system architecture, especially in Intel server platforms
