Job Description

As Protocol Stack Software Engineer you will be responsible for defining and developing communication protocol software for Intel's mobile communication platforms. The position opens up the opportunity to gain a broad insight into leading edge communications products and you will work in a dynamic and cross-functional team of technical experts.

The specific task would be the participation in the development work in the one of the 3 areas which comprises:

1. In-depth analysis and requirements breakdown according to evolving 3GPP WCDMA/LTE-A standards, as well as operator and customer specifications

2. Creation of related functional / detailed design and capturing it in internal specifications, considering performance, memory, power and robustness aspects

3. Implementation and integration of new functionalities in C / SDL, as well as conducting code reviews and generation of appropriate component release documentation.

4. Validation of the code changes in Intel's host simulation environments including development of related test scenarios on module and component level

5. Validation of performance criteria and realization of code optimizations

6. Analysis of defect reports and traces, followed by development of bug-fixes or enhancements to the system.

7. Supporting platform bring-up phases and inter-operability-test IOT sessions by usage of network simulator in labs or live network environment

8. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders or customers including conducting of technical presentations.

We expect a highly-motivated technical expert with strong interests in problem solving and very good comprehension skills.

You should be flexible to travel from time to time.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. Minimum Requirements: - The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology. - Minimum of 3 months experience in: 1. Programming and debugging in C/SDL in a real time, multicore, embedded system 2. Experience in software development 3. Experience with working in a multisite version controlled system like IBM Rational Clearcase or GIT in UNIX/Linux7 Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of UMTS/LTE 3GPP specifications will be added advantage, in particular in one of the above mentioned layers for Non-Access Stratum, Access Stratum Control Plane or Data Plane protocol layers Knowledge in Agile/Lean software development
