During your VIE assignment, you will be working as Geologist in Imerys Ceramics Thailand, where are based about 200 employees, on 3 plants (Ball Clay in Lampang, Feldspar in Ayutthaya, Kaolin in Ranong) and Head office in Bangkok, with 18M€ of sales in 2015
Poste et missions:
You will support Geological projects and your main tasks will be the following:
- To manage Data for computer based on geological modelling
- To conduct computer based geological modelling in conjunction with responsible geologists
- To integrate multiple aspects of field and laboratory data Geological mapping, trenching, sampling ( basic geological data gathering )
- To assist in Drilling programmes
- To core logging and sampling
- To undertake geological interpretation and evaluation of existing operations
- To help calculate reserves/deposits potential and to produce models accordingly, in line with Imerys standards
- To make 3D Geological modelling of new projects
- To update geological models with new data
Profil:
Education:
- Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering or Mining Geology, preferably with an MSc in a related subject
Experience:
- 0-3 years geological or mining experience / internship preferably in the minerals industry.
Technical skills:
- Basic knowledge of geological principles, theories, concepts & techniques.
- Familiarity with geological modelling or mining software (Surpac, Whittle…)
- Strong personal computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Access …)
Language:
- Fluent in English
- Basic in Thai would be a plus
