The Distribution Services (DS) areas are a part of IKEA Range & Supply and responsible for the development of the distribution network in their respective countries and distribution of the range to the IKEA stores and customers at lowest possible cost. In addition, Transport & Services are secured for all respective areas. Within DS South Europe we operate Distribution Centres in Italy (Piacenza), France (Marseilles, Lyon, Metz, Paris) and Spain (Valls) and our Transport & Services organisation is located in the three countries. To support future Growth in Middle East, our new DC in Dubai is about to start operations.
To prepare for future succession, we now search for the new
Distribution Unit Manager (DC Manager)
Location: Metz, France
After a planned introductory period, as DC Manager, you will:
· Manage and optimize the Distribution Center within given frames based on an environmentally and socially sustainable Supply Chain
· Lead, coach and develop a high performing DC/CDC organization (communication, flexibility, performance culture, competence development, succession planning)
· Support the management team in leading in a dynamic work and labor environment
· Secure efficiency and initiate improvements to reach excellence in operations defined in DS business plan and to fulfill performance goals defined in the GSP with the customer in focus and the total supply chain in mind
· Responsible for budget and results for the Distribution Center and secure that benchmarking and improvement process are in place
· Secure that warehousing process and new technology is implemented in the DC/CDC
· Secure that IKEA rules and country specific laws and regulations are followed
· Facilitate communication and cooperation with stakeholders involved in Store Delivery process in the DS area/DCG respectively stakeholders involved in Picking and Delivery Services in the DS area/market/country
· Contribute to the creation of the DS area business plan and implement local action plan
· Secure necessary information flow and effective communication throughout the organization
· Lead and participate in networks and projects You are our candidate, if you have:
· Good understanding of our Supply Chain and other aspects related to logistics
· Good Understanding of social and environmental aspects related to logistics
· Strong communication and relation skills, ability to build trustful relations and commitments on all levels to include our dynamic workforce
· The ability to get things done and to realize goals, with the desire to question current ways of workingand to strive for quick, lean and simple solutions.
· The ability to develop and to lead an organization in a changing environment
· Ability to implement structural way of working
· Being an ambassador for IKEA culture and values both internally and externally Ideally you also bring to the assignment the following:
· University degree (Logistics, Economics or related) or equivalent in working experience
· Min 3 years working experience in a management position (preferable in Logistics, Retail or related)
· Proven leadership skills enable to communicate, inspire and motivate co-workers in a dynamic labor environment
· Fluency in French and English (written & spoken)
