IKEA Transport organization is approximately 400 persons globally with purchase volume of 1.5 billion Euros, working in the category dimension of Land and Ocean. Each category is responsible to design, develop, plan, purchase, operate and follow up the service execution of transports and services from IKEA suppliers and service providers to IKEA Distribution Centres and Stores; securing the needed transport capacity at the right time, with the right quality, at the right cost and in a sustainable way; to continuously contribute to the goal of having 100% satisfied IKEA customers.

About the job
As a Category Analyst in the category Ocean you are part of the global team and report to the Sourcing Manager or the Operational Manager. You are responsible for monthly KPI on global, regional, local, trade and carrier level. Additionally you support the cost goal and the yearly tender process. To reach cost goal and KPI you analyse, suggest and secure improvements and corrective actions. Additionally as a category analyst you participate in the development of the purchasing process, tools and systems lead and participate and cooperate in projects and tasks within Transport. You encourage clear communication and cooperation with Transport providers and other stakeholders, sharing goals and ambitions that will support the overall business development. In the Category you are responsible for contract management and work with Business/Market Intelligence.

About you
We are looking for you who has high analytical skills and drive, desire and motivation to develop and improve solutions and concepts. You have a university degree, or an equivalent education, within Logistics. You have a minimum 2 years' experience from the Transport business and knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics. Furthermore you have good knowledge of Excel, Access and are fluent in English. As a person you are business minded and cost conscious. You have drive, desire and motivation to improve and look for better solutions and concepts. You are self-motivated and have the ability to organize, structure and prioritize numerous tasks. To be successful in the role it is very important that your communication and social skills are excellent. You have the ability to create and develop business relations. The location of this assignment is IKEA Supply AG, Pratteln (Basel) Switzerland and require from you occasional, project related travelling.
