Role Purpose

Issuer Services Operations (ISV Ops) is part of the broader Client Operations organization within GBM. ISV Ops is globally aligned, supporting Issuer Services, GB and CMB lending and bond origination. The function is accountable for Loan Agency Operations, Loan Administration and Corporate Trust Operations functions.

The Vault and Crest Analyst will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Primary Issuances into Crest and the ICSDs for those transactions that ISV are appointed as Issuing and Paying Agent. Where the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that as Common Depository we meet our Regulatory requirements for Global Notes and that the ISV Vault is managed in line with these requirements, along with supporting the ongoing management of Crest transactions and life cycle events.

Role and Responsibilities

· Ensure that for all new issuances into the ICSDs the Global Notes are created and held to meet our regulatory requirements around Common Depository.
· Complete the daily activities around the management of the Common Depository Vault and ensure that the Vault is maintained to a high level of accuracy.
· Management of the Primary Issuances into Crest and monitoring of trade status to ensure timely settlement.
· Monitoring of Interest or Maturity Payments to track the status and completion of these life cycle events.
· Reviewing processes in order to identify areas of improvements relating to automation and/or streamlining, risk reduction or control enhancements. Along with driving these changes through to the implementation stage
· Completion of daily controls and trackers to ensure all activities are recorded and actions completed
· Provide operational support and assistance to the Common Depositary, New Issues, Rate Fix teams in the Global Service Centre in Kolkata.

Management Risk

· Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and Group requirements.
· Demonstrate CASS understanding

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and Group requirements.

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

·  1 year minimum experience in the Corporate Trust or Crest required.
·  Prior settlements experience in either ICSDs or Crest
·  Knowledge of capital markets products and processes desirable.
·  Strong communication & client service skills required to build and enhance client relationships.
·  Ability to multi-task and manage frequently changing priorities.
·  Previous experience around CASS regulatory requirements would be beneficial
·  Ability to work accurately and effectively with minimum supervision.
·  Ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting colleagues where required.
