Role Title: Technical Business Analyst - Global Business Insight

Role Purpose
· GBM Market Operations have restructured their Business Insights and MI capability team which support business decision making and ensure ongoing quality and relevance of the MI and insight produced, across client experience, risk and control and efficiency.
· As such the function requires a lead within the risk and control space; whose primary objectives will be to:
· Support the expansion of Key Risk Indicator Business Insights globally across Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Equities and Collateral services.
· Develop robust, scalable solutions to provide business leaders for a single source reporting tool globally
· Support the Line Manager to drive the Global Market Operations MI agenda forward in relation to control reporting which includes, Daily KRI and Monthly Post Trade Control metrics.
· Design, develop an Xcel spreadsheet uploader which normalizes unstandardized data into a stanrdardised format.
· Act as key interface into supporting partners, such as IT, to ensure MI technology meets business requirements and strategy
· Maintain oversight of
· Business support activity – producing high profile bespoke reporting
· Tactical solutions support team to deliver ad-hoc reporting capabilities
· Reconciliations centralized reporting
· Support Market Operations in identifying cost efficiency opportunities and areas of focus
· Ensure robust discussions on requests are undertaken and a clear prioritisation process is in place and communicated

· To assist in identifying and implementing ways greater alignment and efficiency in all aspects of GBI delivery

Role Context
· The incumbent will report into the GBI Owner

Role Dimensions
· Delivery management of the Global Business Insight Team in GBM Market Operations.
· Market Operations supports all primary asset classes and currently has a ~3,000 Headcount presence across multiple jurisdictions, with ~60% of headcount currently in low cost locations

Management of Risk
· It would be expected that the incumbent challenges existing or proposed procedures where risk is identified, and escalates accordingly.

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

·  7-10+ experience in delivering performance metrics and running associated teams into a GBM Market Operations environment
·  Proven Technical skills in SQL, Oracle, Java, Microsoft Xcel, (VBA) Powerpoint
·  HTML5 desirable
·  Self Starter, ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines
·  Communication; able to work with stakeholders across all levels of seniority
·  Change capability and project and programme experience essential


Under the Company's internal 'Back to Front'/'Front to Back' transfer policy this role may be classed as High Risk.
