Key Objectives for Team Leader:

To provide technical guidance and specialized knowledge to staff and ensure ongoing operations of the area are performed effectively and efficiently. The focus will be on the training and development of staff in dealing with day-to-day client transactions in addition to resolving client issues and solidifying relations with the HSBC branches.

Principle Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business

· Participate in developing work systems and processes aimed at improving customer satisfaction and optimizing productivity and efficiency
· Assist in identifying and participating in business development initiatives

Customers / Stakeholders

· Resolve client trade disputes in an effective and constructive manner with a view to client retention, identifying service improvements and training requirements for staff

Leadership& Teamwork

· Provide technical trading assistance and assist in delivering ongoing training initiatives
· Provide ongoing coaching support to motivate team to strive for better performance
· Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

· Assist in ensuring that representatives consistently perform according to the established Quality Call Standards
· Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks.
· Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Major Challenges

· Multiple priorities throughout daily activities, while exercising proper judgment in evaluating risk and provide high degree of trade supervision to the Contact Centre.

Management of Risk

· Ensure compliance of both general and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) compliance controls as well as operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge& Experience / Qualifications:

·  Completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practice Handbook (CPH) and Derivatives Fundamental and Options License Course Course (DFOL), and is an Investment Representative with the IIROC
·  2 - 3 years of trade execution experience combined with a university degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
·  Discount brokerage experience
·  Well-developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
·  Previous experience in all aspects of training and development of employees
·  Well-developed organization and prioritization skills.
·  Experience working in a fast paced environment with dynamic deadlines would be an asset.
·  Knowledge of Cantonese and/or Mandarin an asset
·  Knowledge of French as asset
·  Available to work flexible extended hours as required.
