Role Purpose
· The Investment Counsellor Team is the initial point of contact for Relationship Managers with investment clients. Investment Counsellors are client-facing investment generalists who position the message of the Investment Group in a portfolio context and provide investment advice directly to clients. Advice encompasses both discretionary services available and advisory recommendations. The Investment Counsellor is an integral part of the client service offering working with the Relationship Teams under the Troika model.
· Growth in NNM, revenue and RoA: To assist Relationship managers achieve financial targets as communicated and monitored by Finance.
· Strategy Execution: To undertake portfolio reviews and proposals, continuously strengthen and disseminate product and investment proposition capabilities through coordination with product specialist teams and improve volumes traded.
· Building long-term customer relationships
· Provide support to a regional team of RMs and be prepared to travel extensively within the UK.
· Assist in strategic repositioning to streamline the business
Key Accountabilities
Impact on the Business
· Assist RMs to achieve financial targets as set by the Business
· Improve trading volumes
· Demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of the key asset, revenue, quality of revenue and product mix targets at the business and team level.
· Prepare investment proposals to assist in winning new clients
· Perform client portfolio reviews
· Identify opportunities for providing proactive investment advice – strategic and tactical
· Strengthen and disseminate product and investment proposition capabilities
· Show awareness of the business strategy and relevant practical considerations in respect of investment portfolios/solutions, e.g. booking jurisdiction, regulatory and tax considerations
· Demonstrate excellent knowledge of financial, macro and geopolitical developments in order to have high level communication with clients.

- and post-trade suitability requirements for advised trades

· Proactively support the IC team and management in meeting performance targets.
· Discourage behaviour that represents a financial and reputational risk; encourage that which drives top line growth, manages costs and enhances our brand.
· Maintain and build strong relationships across all teams in PBGB
· Work in partnership with the wider IC and PBIG team
· Contribute to weekly IC team meetings and RM investment meetings
· Contribute to the team’s investment knowledge through sharing any relevant market news/research/conference output
· Help reinforce the risk and control culture for your team. Escalate issues accordingly.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
· Ensure the interests of HSBC and our customers are put before your own by fully understanding and complying with the spirit and letter of all Global Standards in addition to all laws, regulations, compliance, risk policies and procedures and risk appetite that apply to the business.
· Develop and maintain a strong knowledge and strict adherence to all the PB and Group systems and procedures
· Appropriate communication and respect to Group and GPB core standards should be sustained in any direct external client communication or marketing activity
· Limit operational losses. Ensure no incident occurs through adherence to procedures, attention to detail, strong controls and strong reactions.
· Give due attention to all KRIs where applicable
Major Challenges
· Stakeholders are diverse and demanding. Proven experience of dealing with HNWI and senior RMs a necessity. Success requires a confident, proactive approach with strong teamwork, communication, and technical skills.

· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Profil recherché
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
· Acknowledged professional experience in investment advisory role of 5yrs
· Previous experience of dealing with HNWI
· Willingness to travel in the UK and spend 2 days a week based in Manchester/Leeds
· Excellent markets and product knowledge across all asset classes
· Strong client focus
· Personable and persuasive
· Ability to work well within a team and work collaboratively across the wider business
· Strong communication skills – oral and written
· Superior analytical skills
· Organisational/Time management skills
· Attention to detail
· Holder of degree education level from accredited institution.
· Professional qualifications: already hold appropriate examinations to Level 6 or CFA Charter holder
· CF30 registration
· Existing SPS holder preferred
· IT skills including MS Office, Bloomberg
