Group Internal Audit (GIA) provides independent and objective assurance as to whether the design and operational effectiveness of the Group’s framework of risk management, control and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate.

GIA adheres to The Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) mandatory guidance including the Core Principles, Definition of Internal Auditing, the Code of Ethics, and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards). In addition, GIA complies with Practice Advisories, Practice Guides and recommendations issued by the IIA to the extent that these apply.

GIA activity must evaluate and contribute to the continuous improvement of HSBC’s governance, risk management, and control processes using a systematic, disciplined, and risk-based approach. GIA’s credibility and value are enhanced when auditors are proactive and their evaluations offer new insights and consider future impacts and emerging risks.

Job content:

·    Report to: SVP Internal Audit

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting assigned audit activities:

·  Conduct internal audits in pursuant to local regulatory requirements and HSBC Group requirements
·  Execute audits and contribute to the execution of most stages in the audit lifecycle: audit preparation, logistics, planning, fieldwork, testing, documentation, issue writing, report delivery, post-report issue validation, and ongoing stakeholder engagement
·  Contribute to a programme of continuous monitoring through regular meetings with stakeholders, participation in business governance forums, ongoing analysis of business risk profiles, and delivery of continuous monitoring reports
·  Contribute to the wider development of Global Internal Audit, through collaborating with other audit teams, considering how audit can use data analytics, agile techniques and other innovations
·  Maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships through bilateral meetings, appropriate challenge in business risk governance forums, and keeping in touch with business, regulatory and industry developments

Information

·  Minimum two years of proven and progressive work experiences in banking industry, preferably with Internal Auditing / Consultancy / Assurance / Risk practices, and certified with “Internal Audit and Internal Control License” via TABF*
·  Preference given to qualified accountants, CIA, CISA, CFE, or ACAMS, or a clear willingness to commit to obtaining a relevant certification.

·    Knowledgeable on local regulations on banking industry in Taiwan

·    A good communicator in English and Chinese, verbally and in writing, and able to present and influence, even when delivering difficult messages to stakeholders

·    An analytical and critical thinker, who can effectively manage competing priorities and complex challenges to deliver positive outcomes

·    A team player, with a desire to help to the team achieve its objectives

·    GPAD covered

* The job holder is required to obtain the local regulator certified Internal Audit and Internal Control License per the local regulation if not already in place.

What additional skills will be good to have

·    Hands-on experience in Data Analytics, Data / Process Mining

·    Dedicated to continuously improving your own skills, which could be demonstrated by holding relevant professional qualifications such as in accountancy, finance or risk management, and keeping up-to-date with developments in the banking industry, markets and regulation
