About Retail Banking and Wealth Management - IT

Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves millions of customers worldwide through our branch network, call centres, and digital and mobile banking. We also connect institutional and retail clients with investment opportunities through our Global Asset Management division. Simpler, faster, and more efficient. These are the underlying principles of the RBWM IT team. To help us achieve this, we are developing a new online banking service with improved security, improved experiences, and improved features. The purpose is to provide Retail Banking and Wealth Management services to HSBC's customers across browser, mobile and tablet and continue to evolve how we connect and interact with our customers. A Day in the Life of a Cloud Full Stack Developer include the following:

As part of the Wealth DevOps team of developers, you will be working with our Business product owner to build the next generation of our Wealth platforms or helping to migrate our existing Wealth platforms to the cloud.

We are looking for outstanding software engineers that will help build the future of HSBC's Wealth IT systems. HSBC's Wealth IT systems include the Retail (Stocks, ETF, Options, etc) Brokerage site, RoboAdvisor, Financial Goal Planners among many other critical systems that support the Retail Banking and Wealth Management Business.

We expect you have strong technical, research and analytical skills and are very eager to learn and to contribute to a highly skilled development team. We strongly value your hard work and obsession to solve complex problems on behalf of HSBC's customers.

You will be part of a Global, cross time-zone team of HSBC software engineers and you will help them create complex tools in several different programming languages that will help improve the quality and efficiency of HSBC's Wealth Canada IT systems.

Principle Accountabilities:
· You will use Docker, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Github Cloud Foundry, MongoDB, NodeJS, ReactJS, Redux, Spring Boot, Pivotal Cloud Foundry for our new development projects
· You will help migrate our existing Wealth applications to the cloud
· You will use Atlassian Confluence and JIRA to help our teams track and manage our daily tasks as part of our DevOps movement within our Technology teams

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
·  Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related field
·  Strong software development skills. Experience with object-oriented design and coding skills C++, Java or C#)
·  Knowledge of cloud concepts and basic cloud architecture, different types of cloud computing
·  Experience with cloud development, building containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines
·  Keen in problem solving and algorithm design
·  Personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies
·  Highly motivated and proactive
Preferred Qualifications
·  Cloud certification (e.g. AWS)
·  Previous experience in a DevOps and Agile role
·  Knowledge of web application lifecycle
·  Knowledge of software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
·  Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions
